As a West Bend Public School, Pathways Charter School is open to all students provided they complete all parts of the enrollment form. There is no charge to attend Pathways other than the normal school fees.
Enrollment procedures are as follows:
1. Fill out an enrollment form found on WBSDPathways.org or pick up a copy at the Educational Service Center and hand deliver it to T.C. Motzkus/Renee King, WBSD Education Service Center, 735 South Main Street, West Bend,WI 53095.
Enrollment in Pathways is limited with priority given to West Bend School District residents. For the 2013-14 school years twenty-five (25) seats will be available in each of the grades 7,8,9. In each subsequent year, the Pathways Governance Council will determine the number of seats available at each grade level in advance of the enrollment period.
Priority enrollment applications for West Bend School District residents for the 2013-2014 school year will be accepted through April 30, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Resident applicants who have enrolled on or before March 21,, 2013 are enrolled in Pathways.
If more than 25 resident students apply for any grade level by April 30, 2013 non-resident students will not be accepted through the open enrollment process and a lottery will be conducted to select students from among the resident applicants whose applications were received after March 22, 2013 for that grade level. All resident students who are not enrolled as a result of the lottery, will be placed on a waiting list based upon the outcome of the lottery. Each school year the waiting list, if any, will expire on October 1. A new waiting list will be established as part of the enrollment process for the following school year whenever a lottery is required.
If less than 25 resident students apply for any grade level by April 30th, 2013, the open seats will be offered to non-resident students who have applied by the open enrollment deadline through the Department of Public Instruction open enrollment process. If there are more non-resident applicants then there are open seats, a lottery will be conducted on May 3, 2013 to select students from among the non-resident student applicants for the open seats.
Open seats remaining at any grade level after the open enrollment deadline of April 30th and before the start of school, or seats that open after the open enrollment deadline which are not filled from a waiting list, will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
2. In order to understand the unique nature of Pathways, it is strongly recommended to attend one of the scheduled Pathways Charter School informational meetings for interested students and parents. Please check the Pathways website for important information, including location and dates for these meetings.
3. Families interested in Pathways who live outside of the West Bend Joint School District #1 will need to file the necessary paper work for Open Enrollment into the West Bend School District and select Pathways as their school of choice.
